Pride in London 2022

We are excited to march at Pride in London on Saturday 2 July. If you applied to march with us, check your email for your confirmation. (Check your spam folder if you can’t see it – we emailed everybody who applied!) 🥳

Meeting Point

The meeting time is 1:30pm.

The meeting point is Grosvenor Square.

You must collect your wristband from Grosvenor Square between 1:30pm and 2:15pm.

You will not be able to access the march without your wristband.

At 2:15pm we must move to our slot in the parade holding area. You will not be able to access this area without your wristband so please arrive on time.

Pride in London advises that you should avoid Marble Arch and Hyde Park Corner underground stations and instead use Green Park, Bond Street, Paddington or Edgware Road if arriving at our meeting point by tube.

Good to know

If you ordered a Gaymers INC. t-shirt for the march you will be able to collect it from our meeting point in Grosvenor Square between 1.15pm and 2.15pm.

Flags will also be distributed here to those who have kindly volunteered as a flag bearers. There will be a big group picture at about 2pm.

We have no baggage storage facility in central London so we recommend that you travel light and only take what you can carry for the duration of the parade.

There will be food vendors, free water refills and toilets available within the holding area before the parade begins.

A few tips:

  • your outfit must be no skimpier than “swimwear”
  • please use biodegradable glitter

Parade route

This year the parade sets off from near Hyde Park Corner underground station and ends near Embankment underground station.

Safety

Let someone who is staying at home know your plans for the day and night. Let them know who you plan to be with and text them if your plans change. Discuss in advance the ways people can contact and support you.

Charge your smartphone and consider carrying an extra battery pack.

Write down phone numbers of friends or family on a piece of paper in case your phone battery runs out.

Stay aware of your surroundings: locate public spaces and 24-hour businesses to seek help in if you feel unsafe.

Always trust your instincts. If you feel threatened or unsafe, remove yourself from the situation as quickly as possible.

After the Parade

Following the march, we will relax in Clapham Common park before our after party at Two Brewers in Clapham.

All Gaymers are welcome to join our Pride After Party at Two Brewers (Clapham High Street) from 7pm where we have the dance room to ourselves until 10pm. You will not need a ticket for this event – it is first come first served.
